About El Jefe
El Jefe Sport Fishing is one of the top multi boat successful charter operations in Costa Rica. Currently serving a consistent clientele from Peninsula Papagayo (specifically Four Seasons Hotel, Andaz Papagayo and Exclusive Resorts Costa Rica). Currently agreements with Ritz Carlton Reserve and Waldorf Astoria are in the final stages. Home base is Marina Papagayo located only 30 minutes away from Liberia International Airport. Aside from being a proven sport fishing operation we also cater activities that make the operation very profitable. Fishing is our passion, and our reputation precedes us, however, our carefully crafted Marine Adventure opens a new dimension for the business. Below, please find specifications for the fleet.

MAVERICK is a well-renowned Custom Sportfisher RYBOVICH built in Florida Twin Cummins Engines 6QSB (Inboard), ZF Transmission 1.75 (New) Cruising Speed 25 kts (Max Speed 30kts) Garmin 7612xsv (2015) GPSMap XSV GHC 20 Marine Autopilot Control Unit (installed 2020). Double Generator for support (Phasor). Release Marine fighting chair. Teak floors in mezzanine with fish double fish box. Lindgren Pittman Reels. Fishing gear (Fisherman Centre rods and shimano tyrnos 30’s and 50’s reels). Tuna tubes and livewell. In 2021 cabin interior was refinish with new teak floors.

SEACARIO
SEACARIO is a beautiful Jarrett Bay Custom Carolina located and flagged in Costa Rica. The boat is a proven tournament winner and also runs charters year-round for El Jefe Sport Fishing Charters. SEACARIO’s original name was “GAME CHANGER” located in Florida. The boat was repowered in 2025 with twin CAT C-12’s 705 HP (Inboards) and New 2018 ZF 325 A 1.50 Transmissions were also added during the repower. Additional upgrades include; new 2019 Garmin 7616 Plotter 16″ touch screen, Garmin 7612 12″ touch screen, Garmin GSD26, Airmar PM411 Transducer Ultra Wide Low / Medium New 2022 Phasor Genset 15.0 kw, DC Gauge Panel, Start/Stop. SEACARIO can comfortably cruise at 26 kts (with a max speed WOT of 34 kts). In 2020 and 2021, new Veem Conquest Propeller 26″ 4 blade 2″ bore High Strength Nibral where installed. Along with new bottom paint and shafts.
